Job Description

1. Design and Engineering: Lead and manage the design team in developing HVAC system designs and engineering solutions for commercial projects. Oversee the preparation of detailed technical drawings, schematics, and specifications for HVAC systems/quantification of drawings (BOQs). Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations in the design process. Collaborate with architects, HVAC consultants, contractors, and clients to understand project requirements and provide design recommendations. Review and evaluate design proposals, including equipment selection, sizing, and layout. Collaborate with OEMs for equipment specification and selection. 2. Project Management- Coordination: Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of design activities into project timelines. Identify design-related issues, and propose effective solutions. Conduct regular design reviews and provide guidance to the team for quality control and adherence to project specifications. Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure timely availability of equipment and materials required for design implementation. 3. Team Management: Lead a team of design engineers and drafters, providing mentorship, guidance, and technical support. Assign tasks, set performance expectations, and conduct performance evaluations. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing within the team. Identify training needs and provide opportunities for skills enhancement. 4. Technical Expertise: Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and advancements in commercial HVAC design. Apply knowledge of energy efficiency and sustainable design practices to optimize system performance. Resolve complex technical issues and provide innovative solutions to enhance system performance and efficiency. Review and approve vendor proposals and ensure compliance with design requirements. 5. Documentation and Reporting: Ensure accurate and complete documentation of design calculations, drawings, specifications, and project reports. Prepare and present design proposals, project status updates, and technical reports to internal and external stakeholders. Maintain organized records of design files, project documentation, and relevant correspondence. Qualifications: Minimum Years of Experience- 6 to 8 years in managerial position. Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with HVAC background. Proven experience in design and engineering of commercial HVAC systems, preferably in a managerial role. Strong knowledge of HVAC design principles, equipment selection, and load calculations. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent. Familiarity with relevant industry codes, ASHRE/Indian building codes standards, and regulations. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
