Position description:
To assist in design and development of TVSM inhouse motor design and development activities.
This includes electromagnetic and thermal design, motor DFMEA, supplier follow-ups, purchase, prototyping, testing and aids for mass manufacturing Primary Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be capable to provide technical aid in design, development, prototyping and testing of electrical machines suitable for EV applications
  • Do detailed road load analysis and arrive at detailed specifications of the electric motors for different vehicle level platforms
  • Analytical design and detailed design of electrical machines employing finite element analysis
  • Need to develop electrical machine loss, thermal and demagnetization models with highest degree of accuracy
  • Predicting the machine performance with wide variation in temperature, operating currents and speeds
  • Need to provide technical support in predicting loss associated with different manufacturing process followed, provide technical suggestions to minimize the same.
  • Need to visualize, design and provide mechanical support in developing novel electrical machines with high power densities
  • Conduct various performance and endurance tests for the designed and prototyped electrical machines



Required Knowledge: 1. In-depth knowledge in electrical machine design-FLUX/ Anysis Maxwell (Finite Element Analysis) 2. Knowledge on drives and modelling-Matlab and Simulink (Modelling and analytical) 3. In-depth experience in lumped circuit thermal modelling-Motor CAD, Speed etc (Thermal and analytical) 4. Basic knowledge on detailed thermal analysis-Accusolve/ Ansysis Fluent, Pro-e (Thermal and Modelling) 5. Coding in Phython ( Modelling and Analysis) 6. Able to analyse and interpret different control strategies 7. Hyperstudy, Got-it (Optimization) Required Skills: Adaptability/Decisiveness ( Ability and confidence to vary between being flexible and holding firm on a decision, also showing leadership) Initiative/Perseverance (Ability to be willing to take action and Staying on-task to completion) Interpersonal Skills (Ability to work effectively with different people and acknowledging diverse opinions, also cooperate with others) Organizational Skills (Ability to identify and set priorities) Stress Management (Ability to work well under pressure)
