Job Description


1.) Job purpose: -

To carry out the development & Implementation of New products in the Electrical & Instrumentation group for the TLB, Vibratory compactors product to remain competitive with Cost, reliability & timing in the Industry.

3.)Key Result Areas (KRA\xe2\x80\x99s) /Measures of Performance (MOP\xe2\x80\x99s): -
  • Identify technological improvement initiatives for product development with in Electrical/electronic area for various product lines like TLB, VC.
  • Should be able to understand CAN communications based on SAE/ISO 1939 for all Control units. Should be able to handle DTCs, CAN messages between VCM and Engine ECU.
Read and study CAN Logs for Electronic engines to identify, and trouble shoot root cause of problems faced in Electronic control units, vehicle control modules with CANalyser.
  • Conceptualize, develop, deploy and monitor engineering changes to resolve current product issues & New products related to electrical and electronics system of TLB, VC based on organizational targets.
  • Design calculations, selection and validation tracking of electrical aggregates for new programs (GPD) on TLB, VC Product.
  • Design electrical circuits for TLB/VC based on product definition.
  • Support development and testing of software and electrical components (like switches, cluster, sensors, relays etc.) on the bench and on vehicle.
  • Instrumentation (define switch functionality, ergonomic layout, HMI); Detailed technical knowledge of Relays, Diode, Grounding, PCB based relays, solenoids etc.
  • Should be able to analyze electrical schematics in CHS and should be able to build models for the simulation in CHS.
  • Support failure root cause analysis and resolution through visits to field, vendors & assembly line for electrical and electronic systems for new programs & Current products (GPD, CQA/CPM/EWT/PIRs).
4.) Background Information and Main Activities: -
  • Design modification & design of Electrical components.
  • Prepare drawings of the electrical harness & electrical components along with prepare BOM for the same.
  • Conduct the Design reviews with cross functional teams to inform the requirement/benefits of the changes to products.
  • Attend change review board to process ECO & coordinate with team to close the open Issues related to electrical.
  • Support the Development & Pre builds appropriately to understand/capture the issues ahead of actual production & implement the solution timely.
  • Work on the PIR, EWT, CPM & CRT profiles to provide suitable & cost effective solution in adherence to time.
  • Resolution of CPM profiles through proper engineering tools and procedures to arrive at a valid root cause and then propose design solutions for the same.
  • Responsibility area includes carrying out design reviews, DFMEA with CFT and release documents as per ISO process.
  • Maintain ISO files for projects so that the same can be audited any time.
  • To get involved with suppliers to manage any unseen manufacturability issues develop parts for Proto trials.
  • Discuss and come up with a validation plan for proposed solution to CPM, CQA issues and execute test requests and EJAs.
  • Designing, layouting and reviewing harnesses, switches, clusters, sensors, logic controllers etc. for current products and new program in TLB, VC.
5) Competencies and Skill Set Required: -
  • Wiring Harness 3D and 2D design (Electrical routing, Flattening, Form-board, DMU checks, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Mentor graphics Capital Harness Suite (CHS) Like Harness, Logic, Simulation, Bridging, DRC (Design Rule Check) etc.
  • Highly skilled in Capital harness (CHS), PLM tools like Team Center, Vis Mockup for vehicle integration study. Should be proficient in synchronization and bridging of harness 3D and 2D between Creo and CHS.
  • Should be able to analyze electrical schematics in CHS and should be able to build models for the simulation in CHS.
  • Knowledge of Harness cable termination, manufacturing process and testing requirements.
  • Knowledge of Electrical System Design for New Product including requirement analysis, benchmarking study, specifications finalization, Product Card creation, aggregates selection, load calculation etc.
  • Knowledge of different process for failure analysis like fish bone, 5W1H etc.
  • Knowledge of various connectors used in Power / Data and Signal applications.
  • Understanding of EMI EMC and related shielding requirement in electrical system.
  • Knowledge of designing Electronic System for generalized application, which includes circuit design, components selection, PCB Board Layout, and debugging embedded C software using micro-controller.
  • Highly skilled in ready CAN traces and proficient with different CAN analysis tool like Vector, CAN analyzer.

7) Qualification and Experience: -

B.E. (Electrical Engineering)
