Client: A Leading D2C baby product brand was founded in 2014 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Company is having annual turnover of around 200 Crs & employee strength of 200 employees & they are providing international safety standard certified bay products by their e-commerce website & online market platforms like Amazon, Flipkart & other leading online & offline platforms.
Job Title - Deputy General Manager-Procurement
Working days and timings - 9.30 am to 6.30 pm (2nd & 4th Saturday off)
Location - Ahmedabad HO
Experience: - 15+years (10-14 years of procurement experience in manufacturing (plastics, injection moulding, auto, or baby products)
Qualification - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering.
CTC: 120000 - 150000 per month
Key Responsibilities
1. Category Procurement & Planning
Own the procurement of plastic resins, moulded components, hardware, packaging, and consumables across categories.
Plan monthly and quarterly material procurement schedules based on production forecasts.
Ensure on-time delivery of all critical components to support moulding and assembly lines.
2. Vendor Development & Negotiation
Identify, evaluate, and onboard vendors for injection moulding, mould fabrication, and sub-assemblies.
Negotiate commercial terms, MOQs, and annual price contracts.
Conduct vendor audits and track cost, quality, and delivery performance.
Develop secondary/backup suppliers for critical components.
3. Tooling & Mould Procurement Coordination
Manage procurement of new moulds and tools -- from RFQ to PO, vendor monitoring, and trial approvals.
Coordinate with Product Development, Tool Room, and Quality for tooling changes and validation.
Maintain a master tracker for moulds, including life cycles, revisions, and ownership records.
4. Cost Optimization & MIS
Execute cost-reduction projects through re-engineering, alternate sourcing, and localization.
Analyze spend data, variance vs. budgets, and procurement KPIs for management review.
Prepare weekly and monthly MIS dashboards for procurement progress, savings, and risk items.
5. Team & Process Management
Supervise a small team of buyers/executives ensuring adherence to SOPs and system hygiene (ERP).
Train team members on vendor management, documentation, and technical sourcing.
Collaborate closely with Planning, QA, Finance, and Operations for smooth process flow.
Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering.
• MBA / PGD in Supply Chain or Materials preferred.
• 10-14 years of procurement experience in manufacturing (plastics, injection moulding, auto, or baby products).
• Strong technical understanding of resins, moulds, and tooling processes.
