Job Family Descriptor Broad outline of the Role Scaling of IP Network : Tata Communications IP Network is India\'s largest and world\'s 5th largest ISP network that carries 25% of world internet traffic, where in this role contributes in maintaining and enhancing the existing design and augmenting the capacity of the Global IP network. The role ensures the identification of repeat failures, enhancement of network performance, availability for IP transit services, IZO and SDWAN infrastructure across technologies, defining network health and adhere to best practices across Service Assurance Lifecycle. This involves working with internal stakeholders like engineering, product (Transmission & IP), service operations to maintain and deliver uninterrupted services for the customers. Growth Services : IZO & SDWAN services is integral part of growth services and it\'s quality is supported through IP SQM. These services are projected to grow with underlying network and new capabilities to be build for supporting large customer deals. Purpose - Broad objective of the role Strong Service centric, customer care experience and skills. Strong Telecom Domain knowledge spread accross Core IP technology and Transmission technologies (added advantage) and in-depth knowlege in IP networks and applications, Demonstrate ability to handle high pressure and respond to crisis situations with calmness and empathy. Ability to handle escalations from/to customers and service providers alike. Experience in Process improvement and Services automation to gain efficiency and build USP in Operations. Understanding of IP and SDWAN Technologies. Adequate knowledge of growth services Operating Network - Key External Enterprise Customers, Auditors. Operating Network - Key Internal Engineering (GIMEC), Product, Sales, Service Delivery, Service Management, Back office provisioning (BOP), IP Provisioning, SOC, IT & Automation. Size and Scope of Role - Financial Size and Scope of Role - No. of direct reports Size and Scope of Role - Total team size Overall 1-2 onrolls and 1 offroll 1 onroll for AS 6453 Network & IZO SDWAN 1 onroll for AS 4755 ILL & GVPN 1 onroll for Project Handling, L2 NNI, NGE services, MPLS -TP 1 Offroll for Database maintananence & L1 internal network audits Size and Scope of Role - Other size parameters 176 Transit pops is 75 Countries 220 GVPN Pops in 100 Countries (5K Network Elements and 95K customers) 350+ Peering Points & 100 Peers Globally 45+ TB of IP Backbone. 23 Tbps traffic (35+ Tbps Sold BW) Geographies Supported - India / International . 67 IZO partners IZO links Supporing Network responsible for total Revenue of USD 500 Mn +. SDWAN : under growth services to be grown USD to 10 M Minimum qualification & experience Graduate (preferably with a management degree) with experience of around 15 years in IP Core Technology Telecom Operations, having handled various areas including ISP (Internet service providers), Enterprise& Managed IP Services, Service Delivery and Service Assurance. Transmission knowledge would be added advantage. Other knowledge/skills Strong Service centric, customer care experience and skills. Strong Telecom Domain knowledge spread accross Core IP technology and Transmission technologies (added advantage) and in-depth knowlege in IP networks and applications, Demonstrate ability to handle high pressure and respond to crisis situations with calmness and empathy. Adequate knowledge of growth services Key Responsibilities Center of Excellence Stakeholder Interlocks: including performance reviews and interlocks with Engineering function, Service Operations functions to track the Network issues, improvements working along engg and vendors for continually improving the Network experience & Handling Customer Escalations Audits IP SQM function participates in external audits (ISO, TL9000 etc) and presents the data to the external auditors through Tata Communications business Excellence team. Goal is to implement service improvement projects. Technical Competencies Growth Services (SDWAN & IZO) Manage all Backbone Infrastructure of SDWAN & IZO services IP SQM coordinates with SDWAN NOC and TAC operations for resolving customer issues of complex nature that are escalated by Service Operations Centre. Resolution of Platform Bugs, Version controls, issues and resolution and performing the project Management. Knowledge / Skills
