Overview This role of Core Compute SME will oversee Core Compute Operations working with respective Platform SMEs (Windows, Unix, VMware). The role will focus and drive day-to-day compute operations and play a role of technology generalist with capabilities in most common platforms (Linux + Windows), enterprise hardware (Blades, Physical Boxes, etc. for Firmware and Asset Mgmt), and traditional management activities. Responsibilities Accountabilities: . Drive and own compute operations working with respective Platform SMEs (Windows, Unix, VMware) . Partner with Service Providers, PepsiCo local facility teams and key stakeholders to ensure local compute facilities provide the required infrastructure to support local compute and network operations. . Partner with Service Providers service delivery teams to review service Levels, KPIs and metrics to ensure service levels are met through regular operational reviews . Partner with PepsiCo and Partner Architects, Compute and Network Engineers and other stakeholders to assist in the design, communication and implementation of Strategies, Technology Roadmaps, Standards, Processes and Services . Partner with Information Security Group to ensure security, audit, SOX and compliance requirements are met . Partner with Asset Management, Compute & Network Engineering teams to maintain asset currency and track out of support equipment still in use. . Partner with Asset Management, Capacity and Performance Management for Global IT Servers, Storage and Automation to assist in establishing a forecast model and anticipate demand . Perform financial forecasting manage project and operational budgets. . Stay abreast of new and emerging technologies and processes. Evolve and apply to continuously improve IT services. . Make and influence technical and business decisions . Work closely with Supplier Relationship Team to foster healthy supplier relationships, manage contracts, product performance, usage monitoring and forecast, service levels and expectations . Partner with Architecture and Engineering Leaders to establish criteria and execution that ensures proper transition from Engineering to Operational areas for project delivery and production support. . Lead the triage of complex problems as needed to ensure restoration or quality of service and support critical incidents when required. . Partner with Risk and Compliance to lead development and ownership of in scope Data Centre disaster recovery plans and ensure regular review of DR plans and tests. . Develop opportunities for cross-team effectiveness and remove organisational barriers for strong teamwork, collaboration, and excellent Compute service delivery Qualifications Years of Experience: . Bachelor\'s degree required, advanced degree or equivalent experience a plus . 12+ years of related IT business work experience Technical skills required: . Experience in CPG industry preferred . Provides outstanding customer service skills to direct and indirect customers, resolving very difficult and sensitive issues effectively . Operational experience in technical platforms . Project delivery experience . Capacity management and data center management experience . Strong analytical skills to support problem troubleshooting, resolution, and root cause determination to complex technology issues . Ability to thrive in a fast pace and demanding work environment. . Strong documentation skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical personnel . Good collaboration and partnership skills to foster key relationships with other technology, application and business teams . Solid foundation in IT operational concepts and procedures . Requisite skills to influence others in order gain consensus and alignment for key deliverables that span multiple teams and organizations .
