Assist in preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes as per the menu and recipe standards.
Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
Support the Chef de Partie during busy service periods.
Take charge of the assigned section in the absence of the Chef de Partie.
Ensure mise-en-place (preparation) is completed before each service.
Maintain smooth communication with other sections for timely service.
Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures (HACCP standards).
Check the freshness and quality of ingredients before use.
Ensure proper storage of food items to prevent spoilage and wastage.
Assist in checking daily stock levels and report shortages to the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
Help in minimizing wastage and controlling food cost.
Supervise and train Commis staff in your section.
Promote teamwork and maintain a positive working environment.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained properly.
Report any equipment malfunction or maintenance needs immediately.
Suggest improvements or new dishes to enhance the menu.
Participate in tastings and trials as instructed by senior chefs.
