Hybrid Working

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We\xe2\x80\x99re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances These requests will be reviewed and agreed for a period of time i.e., will have a start and end date.

Introduction:

This role is a Program Manager for Technology and accountable to \xe2\x80\x93

  • Support strategy definition and deliver technology change across OpRisk & CCO tech portfolios from business, technology, cost, time & quality perspective
  • Maintain technology systems for OpRisk & CCO business
  • Support/define and implement short & long term tech architecture roadmap
  • Strategize & deliver technology transformation through TCO/Productivity/Efficiency initiatives aligned with Group Functions CIO vision
What will you be doing?

The suitable candidate will be using their sound project management, analysis, stakeholder management and leadership skills and experience to ensure the team executes the strategy defined by the Global Head. The candidate will also engage with counterparts in Europe, Asia and the US to ensure that a consistent approach and methodology is followed globally. The person taking up this role will work towards:

Vision and Strategy
  • Work with management to help define and implement aspects of the strategy and vision for the group
  • Translate gaps between current state of tech landscape and strategy into a project plan/roadmap
  • Champion the vision and strategy with team and support decision making with the team
  • Possess a high degree of commercial acumen
  • Review the portfolio for consolidation/optimization opportunities that enable business/technology efficiencies and translate them into roadmap
Delivery
  • Execute Global OpRisk & CCO Technology Strategy- Product, Budgeting & Resourcing, Delivery roadmap & People management and Location strategy
  • Manages project teams engaged throughout the full delivery lifecycle, supporting the business strategy from business case through to initiation, requirement analysis, design, build, testing, implementation and closure
  • Facilitate business change decision-making processes and the planning and implementation of change
  • Define, negotiate & deliver technology book of work for OpRisk & CCO business
  • Control the scope of projects, ensuring that rigorous change control is exercised
  • Ensures that sufficient level of detail project and quality plans are prepared and maintained for complex projects, providing regular and accurate reports on progress against plan to stakeholders as appropriate
  • Ensure project dependencies and assumptions are factored into the planning process
  • Responsible for the successful delivery of projects to plan, budget and agreed quality and governance standards
  • Ensure sufficient level of flexibility and tolerance provided to tackle complex nature of projects
  • Support the infrastructure changes needed to support customer requirements and maintain capabilities in line with Global plans
  • Support service, change and incident management activities with Run the Bank teams
  • Exhibit solid root cause analysis mindset to review ongoing issues and come with adequate corrective and preventive actions and communicate to stakeholders
  • Track and report against project/program activities to ensure progress
  • Champion and improve the project management process and success factors
  • Oversee Training/communication activities as required to ensure it is fit for purpose for level of business change
  • Typically manage three plus complex projects simultaneously at scale
  • Support year-end budget discussions and planning as well as monthly budget review cycles including forecasting
What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:
  • 15+ years of experience with proven track record of programme management with extensive and demonstrable expertise in supporting medium to large complex business and technical programmes of strategic significance, end to end from strategy to execution, with internal and external stakeholder management including senior leaders and change management for business users
  • Technical experience in Java, RDBMS and BI \xe2\x80\x93 visualization and reporting platforms - nice to have AWS architecture knowledge and hands-on experience on any cloud offering solutions
  • Impeccable analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, including experience presenting to senior level leadership
  • Solid people management and leadership skills - Prior team handling experience in technology; solid and tenured team manager - with evidence of managing teams across a range of disciplines and locations
  • Proven ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously, with attention to detail and quality of work in a high paced environment and being able to co-ordinate, manage competing priorities against stringent and demanding timelines
  • Ability to manage upwards and downwards, can negotiate and solicit engagement at all levels of the organisation, and have solid experience of working with senior stakeholders (typically D, MD level)
  • Ability to have a solid impact and to influence key outcomes, budget management, cost and benefit management / realisation and resource allocation
  • Ability to take ownership of issues, drill through the root causes, execute short and long term actions for permanent resolutions
  • Fully up to date with developments in individual area of expertise and will be expected to keep abreast of emerging technologies and potential for application within the Bank
Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Ability to quickly learn new business domains and processes
  • Experience on vended solutions with in-house integrations
  • Demonstrable security awareness, and understanding of security in the broad business context
  • Knowledge of MS Office, MS Project and Project Planning & Control tools
  • Project management - Foundation level accreditation PMP/PMI/Agile
  • Experience in Finance line function or GRC frameworks preferred but not essential
