Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Chef de Partie in preparing and presenting authentic Chinese dishes.
Ensure proper mise-en-place, portioning, and cooking of food items.
Maintain quality, consistency, and presentation standards in all dishes.
Supervise and guide junior staff (commis) in the Chinese section.
Monitor kitchen hygiene and ensure cleanliness and food safety standards are met.
Check food storage and inventory levels; report shortages or spoilage.
Coordinate with service staff for smooth and timely delivery of food during service.
Assist in developing new menu items and maintaining recipe standards.
Requirements:
2-3 years of experience in Chinese cuisine in a similar role (CDP/DCDP).
Proficient in Chinese cooking methods (especially wok, steamer, fryer).
Knowledge of Chinese ingredients, sauces, and regional flavor profiles.
Team player with leadership potential and a positive attitude.
Ability to work under pressure and in fast-paced environments.
Culinary diploma or relevant certification preferred.
Willingness to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays.
