Mandatory Skills

Database Administration Services:

  • Handling incidents and service requests for users including security and space issue incidents
  • First level of Investigation and diagnosis of a problem, resolution and recovery for known issues
  • Follow escalation matrix for L2 & L3 issues and engage respective teams for issue resolution
  • Incident ownership, escalation & communication to stakeholders
  • Coordination of Operational Support
  • Major Incident Management - Involve bridge call, involve stakeholders & provide status updates.
  • Handling Change Requests and Data change service requests
Application Support Services:
  • Technology: Internet Information Services (IIS), Windows server 2012+, PowerShell, SQL server 2012+
  • Services - QA support, Development support, monitoring the behavior of Production servers, Collaborate working with developers/ third parties to ensure that the designed solution responds to non-functional requirements such as availability, performance, security, and maintainability, etc
Level 1 - Work on SQL Generic Tickets such as Refresh - Deployments - Backups etc.

Level 2 - Responsibilities include Performance Tuning, working with Vendors for ticket resolution. Resolve DB incidents and provide RCA

Level 3 - Conduct Analysis on SQL Projects and provide design documentation

  • Automation experience
  • Knowledge about Snowflake is a bonus.
  • Exposure to Oracle database is a plus.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Install, configure and maintain database servers, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
  • Provide Database Administration support for MS SQL Servers in Production environments.
  • Participate in DBA on-call rotation, including nights and weekends as needed to provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
  • Participate in the creation, maintenance, testing, and execution of the Disaster Recovery Plan.
  • Creation and scheduling of Changes required for the execution of DBA Tasks.
  • Monitor databases for optimal performance and proactively act to mitigate performance issues.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance, DB refreshes and support release deployment activities after hours.
  • Handle ServiceNow DBA queue and resolve Database Incidents within SLA.
Qualifications
  • Five plus years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server, versions 2012 through 2019.
  • Experience in SQL Server HA DR methodologies including Always On, Clustering, Log shipping, Mirroring and Replication.
  • Experience in PowerShell scripting for SQL Server automation.
  • Advanced knowledge and demonstrated ability in SQL Server Performance Tuning along with sharp technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently to coordinate and solve DB incidents.
  • Strong Experience in Database Upgrades.
  • Experience in SQL Server Monitoring Tools: Idera
  • Experience working with ticketing systems: ServiceNow
