Position Description
The Data Steward provides guidance and support for stakeholders to improve their data literacy and advocate the adoption of data management and data governance best practices. Ensures compliance of all IT/OT projects and activities undertaken on site as well as smooth operations of IT/OT systems utilized by site. Engage IT product, engineering, and service teams to understand and implement technology and process controls to meet the company?s policy and regulatory obligations Primary Responsibilities:
- Drive continuous improvement efforts, monitor ongoing results, define process areas for review, and conduct benchmarking activities to ensure best in class results for data management best practices
- Organizes the function and process of data management within the organization
- Responsible for adherence to standards and controls, data quality, problem management, and change management requests
- Work with Site Data Stewards to establish synergies, standardization & best practices
- Regularly review, measure and report on manufacturing master data quality
- Ensure that customer and user data is accurate and up-to-date. Ensure that user requests are triaged appropriately. Ensure changes are documented and processed in a timely fashion
- Ability to apply and coach the principles of operational excellence, development of problem statements and action plans, value stream mapping, project planning and systematic problem solving
- Work to champion best practice in data management, governance and quality and make sure we have appropriate safeguards in place
- Understands and communicates impacts of data components across all systems. Communicates and raises awareness, across business unit
- Communicates with global teams to obtain all required information necessary to determine and address their specific needs
Qualifications, Skills, & Experience
Education:
- Bachelor?s Degree
Required Experience and Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in managing data
- Ability to standardize and develop standard data governance practices
- Ability to cleanse data in various formats
- Ability to bring insights to data connectivity across varying systems
- Ability to understand importance of data in the sales and reporting cycle(s)
- Ability to influence and engage
- Ability to maintain a consistent, high quality customer-focused orientation, including providing clear, accurate information
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Data marts, BI tools, Database and Data Warehouse development
- Demonstrated ability to balance team and individual responsibilities
- Thorough knowledge of relevant computer applications and programming languages
- Experience with any of these processes and technologies: SDLC, CAPA, Policies/Procedures, Cloud, RPA, DevSecOps
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks and best practices
- Some exposure to at least one of the following: research, manufacturing, Infrastructure, software development, data privacy, compliance or security
