About you and this role

Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Data Scientist Specialist on the Enterprise Data & Analytics team. The role will align to Dow\'s Design Your Day approach and allows employees to work remotely but will also require onsite work based on project work and role needs. The selected candidate will be expected to live a commutable distance from one of our IT Hubs in Mumbai or Brazil at a frequency to be agreed upon by the employee and their leader.

Extracts knowledge and insights from high volume, high dimensional data in order to investigate complex business problems through a range of data preparation, modeling, analysis and/or visualization techniques, which may include the use of advanced statistical analysis, algorithms, predictive modeling, experimentation and pattern recognition to create solutions that enable enhanced business performance.

Responsibilities

• Participating in the design and development of end-to-end data science analytics solutions using associated technologies and in key conversations with stakeholders about data-driven recommendations to enable the business objective.
• Perform data preprocessing, harmonization, and feature engineering to prepare modeling datasets.
• Development of machine learning or deep learning models, validation and maintenance using Python and identify when more simple techniques can be applied.
• Researching and applying knowledge of existing and emerging data science principles, theories, and techniques to inform business decisions. Researching and leveraging supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a quantitative field is required (i.e. applied stats).
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in predictive/prescriptive modeling in the Analytics and Machine Learning space.
• Master\'s degree or PhD is preferred. Background or experience in business application of analytics is highly desired.

Preferred Skills

• Econometric/Statistical Modeling, Time Series Analysis, Panel Data Analysis, Consumer Behavior Analytics, Markets and Information Economics
• Statistical Analysis programming languages and code hosting platforms: Python, R, GitHub. Knowledge of BI tools such as Power BI is a plus.
• Machine learning and artificial intelligence, deployment of data pipelines using Azure data services. Simulation Analysis, Optimization Concepts & Applications

• Relocation assistance is not available with this position.
• This position does not have people leadership responsibility. This position is an independent contributor; however, you may act as coach and mentor to junior resources.
