About the opportunity The Homeward Mortgage Team is responsible for conducting the financial review and approval of every customer that works with Homeward and/or Homeward Mortgage. We're focused on bringing financial innovations to life and delivering a seamlessly integrated mortgage experience. We are the newest team at Homeward and are looking for subject matter experts and business people with an entrepreneur's mindset and ability to get stuff done. As Disclosure Specialist, you'll be responsible for the accurate preparation and timely delivery of mortgage disclosures throughout the lifecycle of every mortgage transaction. You'll report directly into the Senior Credit Officer while working closely with members of the sales, operations and product teams to help create and deliver a best-in-class, fully-compliant mortgage process. About the opportunity We're seeking a Data Quality Analyst to help us build robust, clean, and enriched datasets to facilitate Homeward's home buying and selling experience in partnership with real estate agents. In this role, you will

• Work with stakeholders in engineering, ops, product, and analytics to ensure that issues with data quality are discovered, documented, and prioritized
• Investigate and evaluate, then coordinate and implement mitigations to data quality issues with internal and 3rd party datasets and ETL pipelines
• Designs, develops and implements effective policies and tooling for evaluation and monitoring of data quality for business critical datasets and metrics
• Mentor and assist the rest of the engineering organization in determining and implementing best practices for data ingestion, normalization, and hygiene
• Work collaboratively across the organization to understand business needs, and use those to drive technology decisions and implement reporting solutions
• Provide expertise in the state of the art tooling for data quality management, help assess the tradeoffs between picking off-the-shelf software and building something in house, and help drive execution of delivering on business needs with either approach
• Independently conduct data analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of policies and perform risk assessment
• Collaborate with Data Engineering and Data Governance functions to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement

What you'll bring

• 5+ years experience with data quality
• Experience owning ongoing high impact projects to maintain and enrich data quality
• Great communication skills for stakeholder management, project ownership, and cross-org collaboration
• Good working knowledge of SQL and familiarity with a variety of relational and non-relational databases, including semi-structured and structured data
• Experience with cloud-based database and SaaS offerings (most notably AWS) is preferred
• Experience working with and directing work for distributed teams is preferred
• Nice to have:
  • Salesforce experience
  • Working knowledge of real estate data
