About the Role - Data Platform Engineering combines software and systems engineering to build large-scale distributed fault-tolerant Data Platform systems, like RDBMS, NOSQL, data search platform, data messaging platform, data caching platform etc. Work with the Product and Engineering team to implement in design, deployment, and operation. Help scale our systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, improve reliability and velocity. Work in an agile environment where quick iterations and good feedback are a way of life. Enforce best practices (unit/automation testing, code reviews, code quality, etc.). Continually look for opportunities to improve our platform. Communicate and coordinate with our support and professional services teams to solve customer issues About You - Bachelor's Computer Engineering or related field with 3 + years of experience (or) Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field with 1 + years of experience. Excellent problem-solving ability, a forward-thinking personality, a leader, a pragmatic approach to decision-making, outcome-driven, open-minded, creative, and consistently seek to innovate and raise the bar Basic Linux and Cloud Technology Awareness. Programming languages Ruby, Python, or any object-oriented programming language or scripting skills Prior experience in IT is a plus As a Data Platform Engineer, Interested to learn and contribute to Data Platform systems, like RDBMS ( MySQL, SQL Server ), NOSQL ( MongoDB), data search platform ( Elasticsearch, ELK ), data messaging platform( Kafka ), data caching platform ( Redis ) etc. A critical thinker, resourceful, problem-solver who has a passion for applying technology to make human life better Strong communication skills and ability to work independently What you'll do: Within 1 month, you'll Complete the onboarding program. Learn the nuts and bolts of the business system, our tech stack, and where we're going. Learn about some of the existing major challenges that the team has tackled on running large complex distributed systems to operate at scale. Within 3 months, you'll Be working on your first project and you would have faced a lot of challenges that come up with production Get comfortable with the system and handling huge datasets. Positively contribute towards team discussions and see the importance of communication in cross-cultural and cross border teams Within 6 months, you'll Finish your first Data Platform Engineering project and implement the solution into the Coupa source code. Understand the technology system flow on the software side and merge your first PR Learn nuts and bolts of distributed system design and scalability issues they present Within 12 months, you'll Have made a visible impact on the product for the users.
