Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Data Governance Specialist to ensure the responsible and ethical use of data, while ensuring fair and secure access for their clients. The Data Governance Specialist will play a pivotal role in safeguarding data integrity, privacy, and accessibility to support the organization\'s commitment to data stewardship. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive data governance strategies and policies that prioritize data integrity, privacy, and fair access for clients Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and enforce data ownership, roles, and responsibilities, establishing a clear framework for data management Monitor and audit data usage to ensure compliance with data governance policies and industry regulations Lead efforts to classify and categorize data assets, ensuring accurate metadata management and transparent data lineage Coordinate data governance initiatives, working closely with IT, legal, and client-facing teams to align data practices with regulatory standards Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of data governance practices and client data access Develop and deliver training programs to enhance data literacy and promote responsible data use among internal teams and client teams Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to data governance and client data access Collaborate with data stewards and data owners to define and maintain data quality standards, validation procedures, and data access controls Support data governance audits and ensure adherence to data-related regulations and guidelines Background of the candidate Bachelor\'s degree in Data Management, Information Science, or related field (Master\'s degree preferred) Proven experience (4-5 years) in data governance, data management, or similar roles In-depth understanding of data governance principles, data privacy regulations, and client data access rights Familiarity with data-related regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, or industry-specific compliance standards Proficiency in data governance tools, data cataloging, and access management platforms Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and clients Strong analytical skills to address complex data governance challenges Certifications in data governance (e.g., DGSP, CDGP) and data privacy (e.g., CIPP) are a plus.
