The Global Financial Crimes & Customer Protection (GFCCP) organization is responsible for detecting and preventing financial crimes and providing protections and remediation paths for PayPal’s customers. GFCCP must run efficient and effective programs across the board which require data-driven insights to drive world-class back-office strategies, processes, policies and/or systems and tools. Successful candidates will offer a strong technical foundation, deep analytical capabilities, and a collaborative working style. They will possess an innate intellectual curiosity and a desire to build a deep understanding of PayPal’s products and data ecosystem. Skills in problem solving, critical thinking and handling large volumes of data will be advantageous. The candidate will interact with global cross-functional teams to address complex business requirements. The successful candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills, abilities to manage conflicting priorities to a defined timeline, strong project management and communication skills. : Responsibilities

  • Leverage technical skills to analyze, design, develop and deploy code across multiple PayPal environments
  • Participate and collaborate with partners/cross functional teams in the GFCCP organization to understand the business requirements and to deliver solutions that can scale.
  • Use a wide range of previous experience, internal and external technologies, and advanced concepts to solve complex business challenges in creative and effective ways
  • Work on projects that may be unstructured and exploratory in nature that may require a high level of theoretical and practical knowledge of multiple technologies
  • Develop technical frameworks for automating key business functions or analysis-driven decisions
  • Be flexible and open to support all functions of product life cycle when required.
  • Work efficiently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and results driven environment to produce meticulous on-time deliverables

Requirements/Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Preferably 3+ years of experience in the IT industry, in the Data engineering space
  • Strong SQL Programming skills with experience with Python is required
  • Exposure to Unix/Shell scripting is a plus
  • Exposure to some ETL tools and Scheduling tools (e.g., UC4, Ctrl-M, Airflow) is preferred
  • Knowledge/Exposure to Big data Environments (Hadoop/Spark/Hive/ Kafka/HBase/Elastic Search) is preferred
  • Background in Cloud computing (GCP, Azure, AWS etc.) is highly preferred
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Willingness to learn new tools and business processes
