About the role

To support our Data ambitions, we search for a Data Architect (located in Belgium) within the Commercial and Customer product group for architecting and designing data solutions around Commercial Master Data. At Bekaert, we value our (Master) Data and hence invest in effective Master Data Management and Data Governance practices to support us in achieving our digital ambitions. To establish a sustained enterprise wide (Master) Data Management and Data Governance approach in co-drive with functions and businesses, the Advanced Digital Solutions (ADS) organization will strengthen the capability with Data and Information Experts/Architects with a product group/domain focus.

Your Impact

You will assure and drive in the process domain of Commercial in the following areas:

• You will influence the information strategy. You will be a partner of the business & ADS leadership and will provide strategic recommendations to maximize the value of information assets.

• You redefine the data architecture and modelling. You will enable data quality management and you will organize the data processes.

• You maximize value derived from data and analytics. You will foster value creation using the Commercial Domain\'s data assets as well as the external data ecosystem.

• You enable effective data and analytics governance. You recommend who can take actions and you deploy the Commercial Master data governance framework by using the supporting data management tools.

• You manage risk and lifecycle. You clarify the relevant policies, automating, monitoring and actively managing the effectiveness of implementation.

• You secure data and analytic assets. You aid in the analysis of data and analytics security working with the Security team.

About You

Essential skills & competencies

• Bachelor or Master degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent through experience in the process domain with demonstrated affinity for master data, data governance and/or analytics.
• 10+ years of overall experience, 5+ years progressive work experience in a similar role related to the manufacturing industry
• Experience of Commercial functional area and Customer are is nice to have
• Experience in tools like Dynamics 365, Adobe Analytics, etc
• Experience in managing globally distributed teams and partners
• Skilled in Data Modeling techniques like CDM, LDM,... Data Platforms like SAP BW, SAP HANA, Azure Data Lake, ... MDM tools lke SAP MDG, Microsoft Purview,...
• Understanding of common information architecture frameworks and information models and metamodels, taxonomies and ontologies, as well as of the challenges of applying structured techniques (data modeling) to less-structured sources.
• System integration experience and data science concepts, as well as MDM, business intelligence, and data warehouse design and implementation techniques.
• Experience with distributed management and analytics in cloud and hybrid environments.
• Influencing skills are necessary on all levels
• Business domain knowledge, data/content and process understanding on Commercial domain and other areas including sales, marketing, customer centric solutions, end to end supply chain etc. (which are as important as technical skills).
• Excellent presentation, communication, leadership and business partnering skills
