Cyber Security - Senior Backend Cloud Developer (Java/Golang/Python & AWS)

BlackBerry is seeking a Backend Developer to design, implement, test and optimize with a high degree of autonomy and an emphasis on tangible results. You\'ll be joining our cloud engineering team and working on a massively scalable data-processing system that produces highly accurate results at exceptionally rapid rates. You\'ll also research new technologies to improve existing systems and design new ones, writing a lot of highly scalable code, harvesting data from different databases, API\'s and other sources of information, as well as work with distributed systems.

In this role, you will:

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable and secure backend cloud solutions using modern technologies.
• Architect and implement robust, high-performance, and fault-tolerant cloud infrastructure to support business-critical applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and develop efficient solutions.
• Implement and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices, ensuring seamless integration with front end systems and third-party services.
• Conduct code reviews, provide guidance, and mentor junior developers to maintain high code quality and adherence to best practices.
• Optimize cloud-based applications for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines and establish effective deployment and monitoring processes.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends, evaluating and proposing innovative solutions to improve system architecture and performance.
• Troubleshoot and debug production issues, identifying root causes and implementing timely resolutions.

You will have:

Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A master\'s degree is a plus.

Extensive experience in back end development, with a focus on cloud-based solutions.

Strong proficiency in the AWS cloud platform, including experience with cloud services like AWS Lambda, EC2, S3.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, GoLang, Python, with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.

Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, designing and optimizing data storage solutions in the cloud.

Understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and event-driven systems.

Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Knowledge of DevOps principles and experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Additional skills

• Cloud certifications are always a plus
• Knowledge of modern programming technologies and approaches (Microservices and Events. Design Patterns, SOLID principles, TDD etc.)
