Would you like to join us Purpose Of The Job You are part of Customs Trade & Export Control India team, reporting directly to CTEC APAC director. You are proactively driving customs and trade compliance to deliver competitiveness E2E and enable customer success. You are responsible for Capturing Trade opportunities to enable customer success, adapting to difficult or challenging regulation changes, collaborating in a dynamic environment with internal and external partners, leveraging a digitalized and transparent data value chain. This role is also responsible to customs brokerage management, HS classification, and trade compliance authority (e.g., Customs) relations. Your Contribution Role Be Accountable. Be Proactive. In this role you will: Act as the company\'s primary contact for customs and trade relevant authorities As a natural leader, leading through people, functions to be compliance at Volvo group. grow stake holder\'s compliance ambassadors. Develop, document, maintain and drive enforcement of local Indian policies and procedures regarding trade. Responsible for HS classification, customs valuation, Country of Origin, Permit/License application, Customs Privileges e.g. Free Zone, CKD, Bonded Facilities Secure and manage significant customs areas e.g., Rules of Origin, Free Trade Agreements (FTA), Customs Regimes, Regulatory Requirements And Other Local Restrictions. Manage, handle, and mitigate existing and/or pending cases e.g., Customs duty drawback, Bank Guarantee, EPCG, Ted refund and other relevant schemes/ regimes including controversy and dispute cases. Create and maintain strong relationships with Legal Departments, Sales and Tax. Work very closely with Group Tax team/Sales, to proactively and in a timely manner manage any potential Tax, Customs and related Transfer Pricing risks to Volvo Group. Establish customs broker Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Score Cards (SCs); perform trade compliance review/audits to brokers and drive implementation of corrective actions arising from findings. Proactively identify value-added opportunities to improve trade duty competitiveness, minimize compliance risks and reduce costs. Proactively identify trade-related regulatory changes and ensure that policy/process updates are made, communicated, and implemented. Provide advice regarding Trade Barriers, BIS, Import Quota, Import Prohibition and Restriction, Government Policies including silent/ambiguous rules to stakeholders. Provide and/or facilitate internal and external training to teams/vendors that directly or indirectly manage activities that impact export and import compliance. Drive and participate in Customs Systems/ Automated solutions. Participate in identification of current and potential risks regarding Export Control Maintain accurate record keeping and retention process. Assist in external audits & manage relevant certifications and licenses (AEO/CTPAT) Support and conduct risk assessments to identify compliance concerns and coordinate with appropriate partners to achieve the resolution. Pursue cost savings strategies as a priority within Customs and Import/Export Control team in alignment with Volvo Group Strategies. Represent Volvo Group in Professional Trade bodies and ensure business is updated on latest regulations. Qualifications Essential Education and/or Training Qualifications: Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of import and trade regulatory compliance in India, including use of bonded facilities, ECCN, customs valuation. Demonstrated experience in developing and deploying process improvements and best practices across organizational functions with a strong focus on results. Must have at least 8 years of experience in a fast-paced environment Ability to analyse information/data thoroughly and accurately (including those requiring the use of Excel, Power BI, other automation tools etc.) Experiences in Consulting and automotive industry is preferable. Prior working experience with regional customs authorities in APAC region is an added advantage. Preferred Experience And Knowledge Good understanding of the Volvo Businesses, especially the logistics set-ups in Volvo. Strong leadership, inspiring, and result oriented. Strong communication and presentation skills Structured work approach with Project management skills Significant change management abilities Demonstrated ability to work independently without direct supervision. Solid analytical, digital, and problem-solving skills. Creativity/Innovation: Reframing traditional patterns of thinking and applying new and evolving ideas, methods, designs and technologies. High skills in building strong networks/relationships with other departments.
