POSITION DESCRIPTION

The incumbent will be responsible for managing the entire credit process, including the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, approval of credit to Portfolio Companies, and credit review of existing portfolio companies. The individual will be expected to develop a credit and risk management process that is aligned to the overall investment process, which is scalable and efficient.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Credit

- Consult with prospective Portfolio Companies and understand their funding requirement

- Conducting background checks on potential investees to determine their ability to pay back the principal and interest

- Approving the proposals for onward submission to Credit Committee

Risk Management

- Develop an appropriate portfolio construct and direct investments to the construct

- Review economic and financial trends that may present a risk to the company

- Review industry-related developments and other resources and assess their impact on the portfolio

- Research and study the events in the current scenario and anticipate any effect on the economy as well as the financial industry

- Monitoring of Portfolio Company for adherence to covenants and other contractual agreements including compliance e.g. regulatory

- Analyze data to better understand potential risks, concerns and outcomes of decisions

- Aggregate data from multiple sources to provide a comprehensive assessment of individual portfolio companies and the portfolio as a whole

- Regular analysis and presentation of overall portfolio health and potential direction of portfolio construct

- Identify economic and financial trends that may present a risk to the Fund

- Monitor internal and external data points that may affect the risk level of a decision and make suggestions on how to mitigate for them

Monitoring & Collections

- Undertake soft collections through customer interaction

- Send soft letters /communication if there are any delays in repayment

- Engage with Portfolio Companies/ meet/ review the corporate operational performance for ensuring timely/regular payments

- Regular updates to Management/Review committee on portfolio behavior and report any early warning signals on portfolio/corporate performance in terms of repayment

Others

- Collaborate with other team members to effectively analyze and present data

- Create reports with all facts of the case for effective and informed decisions

- Be conversant with domestic and internal tax impact (e.g. WHT)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

- Qualified CA/MBA with relevant work experience Credit underwriting/portfolio management 10-12 years with Debt Funds/NBFCs/Banks/corporates

- Financial Modeling, data management, analysis, and visualization skills

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
