Based within our Solutions team in India, in this position you will collaborate with our global Sustainability team located in North America, Europe, and the Middle East.
This position is for someone to integrate with our Sustainability team which works with companies to set and achieve sustainability goals, including deep decarbonization. This team serves a wide range of corporate clients from globally recognized consumer brands to energy intensive industries.
Examples of the type of work you would contribute to include:
Developing a complete scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon footprint for a global food and beverage company
Setting science-based greenhouse-gas targets for a global restaurant brand
Developing a decarbonization roadmap for an industry sector association
Creating strategies and initiatives for a global port and terminal operator to reach net-zero climate targets
Implementing an emission tracking system for a global logistics company
Establishing a sustainability program for a fashion company
Supporting an industrial company to procure renewable electricity
Preparing market forecasts for low-carbon building technology providers
Conducting ESG materiality assessment & benchmarking for a Food & Beverage company
Conducting surveys and energy audits in supply chain
Implementing decarbonization projects at factories, buildings and other facilities
Supporting a climate risk assessment and TCFD disclosure
Supporting a CDP or GRESB report submission
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities working with the sustainability team, include:
Data Analysis:
Data gathering and analysis, creating detailed and well-formatted calculation models (e.g. carbon footprint calculations).
Identifying issues with methodologies and analysis and communicating about gaps and uncertainties appropriately
Research:
Providing detailed fact finding, industry research, and analysis on business, climate, sustainability, and energy-related activities
Business Writing and Presentations:
Preparing presentations and workshops and presenting your findings to clients.
Writing reports and supporting proposal development activities
Client and Internal Communication:
Conducting client interviews independently
Proactive communication with project manager and consultants in Europe, North America and Middle East
Support implementing our new
(built on Salesforce):
Support client (energy, carbon, waste, water, & other ESG) data integration in Papaya's carbon footprint calculator, and data quality management.
Communicate/collaborate with Salesforce development team and project teams to confirm data modeling approach for client sustainability data in Papaya
Task & Project management:

Qualifications
Relevant Experience & Training [mandatory for application]
3-5 years working experience in the field of corporate sustainability and carbon emission analyses.
Master's degree in engineering, environmental science, physics, economics, mathematics. Specific training in climate change and sustainability related topics is a bonus.
Experienced and skilled with PowerPoint and Excel and other MS Office Tools
Exposure to Sustainability Tools, Methods and Standards
Carbon Footprinting - GHG Protocol Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3, ISO 14067/14040/14044.
Science-based target setting including absolute and sector specific standards
ESG Assessment - key ESG standards and frameworks including EU Taxonomy, SFDR, TCFD, SDGs, GRI, SASB, materiality mapping, rating methodologies and scoring, ESG report writing
TCFD Climate Risk Assessment - performing climate risk assessment and working knowledge of the TCFD framework, strongly preferred
Sustainability Reporting - CDP Climate/Water/Forest and TCFD
Life Cycle Analysis - EcoInvent, Gabi, Simapro
GHG Abatement - Developing roadmaps towards target achievement and construction of marginal abatement cost curves(MACC) or carbon abatement measures. Conducting energy audits and supporting implementation of GHG abatement projects.
Familiarity with Sustainability Topics
Energy (e.g., hydrogen economy, advanced energy technologies, electricity power and gas industries, renewable energy)
