The Control Systems Engineering Group is responsible to lead Control Systems, Instrumentation, Drive Systems, Combustion Control, Crane Control, Machine Safeguarding and related regulatory coordination scope for various Plant Engineering solutions and improvement projects.r r r r Accountabilities: r r r r

• r
• Specify equipment and perform design of Control Systems, Drive Systems and Machine Safety Control Systems with current and emerging technologies.r
• Manage outside engineering Consultants and/or lead the scope definition, budget development, schedule adherence, technical oversight, installation, commissioning, start-up and troubleshooting of sensors, control systems and drive systems.r
• Independent project engineering in a multi-discipline team environmentr
• Prepare budget cost estimates for engineering solutions and implementation.r
• Develop internal specifications and standards based on legislation, industry standards and plant requirements.r

• Strong interpersonal, leadership, communication and presentation skillsr
• Experience in project engineering, project coordination, equipment reliability, construction engineering, engineering analysis and design, problem identification and solvingr
• Advanced regulatory knowledge of codes, standards and specifications applicable to the position for electrical, industry, construction, industrial establishments and mining within the province of Ontarior
• Experience working with Operations and Maintenance personnel within a Manufacturing environmentr
• Familiar with Pre-Start Health and Safety Reviews as defined in Section 7 of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act R.R.O. 1990, Regulation 851r
• Experience interpreting and applying Z432-16 (R2021) - Safeguarding of machineryr
• Advanced knowledge of Siemens, Rockwell, Emerson and other leading control systems and drives an asset.r

• r
• University engineering degree or applicable college degree with extensive experience requiredr
• 7+ years of job related experience (minimum)r
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the province of Ontario or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.)r
• Significant job-related exposure to heavy industrial equipment and work environment.r
• Functional Safety Engineer (TUV Rheinland or equivalent) in Machine Safeguarding an assetr

• Office environment with occasional plant visits r
• Normal hours of work are daytime, Monday to Friday (8 hours per day, plus lunch) with occasional extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads r
• Flexibility to determine workday start and end times, to fit personal needs r
• Part-time remote work (up to 2 days per week)r
