Job Summary:



We are looking for a talented and motivated

Commis 1 Chef - Continental Cuisine

to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in continental cooking techniques and be capable of preparing and presenting high-quality Western-style dishes under the guidance of senior chefs.

Key Responsibilities:



Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of continental dishes including soups, pastas, grilled meats, sauces, salads, and plated appetizers/main courses. Follow standard recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines. Ensure mise en place is prepared and organized before each service. Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety in the kitchen at all times. Store and label all food items correctly to minimize waste and ensure freshness. Support the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations. Maintain cleanliness and order in the assigned section of the kitchen. Handle kitchen equipment responsibly and report any maintenance issues. Assist in receiving and storing kitchen supplies and ingredients. Comply with HACCP and food safety procedures consistently.

Requirements:



Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, ideally in continental cuisine. Basic understanding of Western/European culinary techniques and ingredients. Culinary diploma or relevant vocational training is preferred. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays. Passion for food, presentation, and learning new skills.

Preferred Skills:



Knowledge of sauces, grill, saute, or cold kitchen sections. Experience working in hotels or fine-dining establishments. Familiarity with kitchen hygiene standards and safety protocols.
