Job Summary
The Tandoor Commis 1 is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting tandoor items according to standard recipes, ensuring consistent quality, taste, and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook tandoor dishes such as naan, roti, kebabs, tikka, and tandoori breads
Operate and maintain the tandoor oven safely and efficiently
Prepare and manage mise en place for the tandoor section
Ensure correct marination, dough preparation, and cooking techniques
Maintain food quality, portion control, and presentation standards
Follow food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP)
Minimize food wastage and ensure proper storage of raw materials
Clean and maintain tandoor area, tools, and equipment
Assist senior chefs in daily kitchen operations
Work as part of a team and follow instructions from superiors
Skills & Requirements
Good knowledge of Indian tandoor cooking techniques
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
Experience handling charcoal or gas tandoor ovens
Good coordination and time management skills
Team player with a positive attitude
Experience & Qualification
1-3 years experience in Indian kitchen (Tandoor section preferred)
Culinary or hotel management certification is an advantage
