Job Summary



The Continental Commis 1 is responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of continental dishes under the supervision of the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef. This role requires strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and hygiene in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities



Prepare and cook a variety of continental dishes such as pastas, grills, sauces, soups, and salads according to standard recipes. Assist the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations. Ensure all mise en place (food preparation) is completed before service. Follow standardized recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards. Monitor food quality and freshness; ensure dishes are served at the correct temperature. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, kitchen equipment, and utensils. Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times. Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages. Properly store and label food items to avoid contamination or spoilage. Support in training and guiding junior staff (Commis 2 & Commis 3). Work collaboratively with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth service flow. Minimize food wastage and contribute to cost control measures.

Qualifications & Skills



Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts, Hotel Management, or related field. 2-3 years of experience in continental cuisine, preferably in a hotel or fine dining restaurant. Good knowledge of continental cooking techniques, sauces, and ingredients. Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment under pressure. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Knowledge of kitchen safety, HACCP, and hygiene standards. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Work Environment



Commercial kitchen setting in a hotel, restaurant, or catering unit. Physically demanding role requiring standing for long hours and handling hot equipment safely.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
