Job Description

Key Responsibilities1. Food Preparation & Cooking



Prepare and cook continental dishes such as soups, salads, sauces, grilled items, pasta, steaks, seafood, and baked items. Follow standard recipes, portion controls, and presentation guidelines. Ensure high-quality and consistent taste across all preparations. Handle special dietary requirements when needed.

2. Menu Planning



Assist in creating continental menus for daily meals, events, and special occasions. Develop new dishes and improve existing recipes. Plan seasonal offerings using fresh ingredients.

3. Ingredient Management



Ensure availability of high-quality ingredients required for continental cuisine. Check freshness of produce, meat, dairy, and specialty items. Monitor inventory, storage, and stock rotation.

4. Kitchen Hygiene & Safety



Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation at all times. Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards. Ensure proper handling, cleaning, and maintenance of kitchen equipment.

5. Coordination & Teamwork



Work closely with other chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations. Support junior cooks with training and supervision on continental techniques. Communicate effectively during service for timely food delivery.

6. Quality Control



Ensure dishes meet the required taste, texture, and presentation standards. Check food portions and minimize wastage. Conduct tasting samples to maintain quality consistency.

Skills & Qualifications



Proven experience as a Continental Chef or in a similar role in hotels, restaurants, or private households. Strong knowledge of European and Western cooking techniques. Expertise in grilling, roasting, baking, sauteing, and sauce preparation. Ability to manage multiple dishes during peak service. Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards. Culinary degree/diploma (preferred).
