Hi there. We're looking for a data-driven and experienced manager to lead the content marketing team. PPE Headquarter is on a mission to supply carefully crafted exam preparation without classrooms or excessive prices. Yearly, over 3,000 professionals from top employers trust our exam preparation materials.As our first Content Marketing Manager, you will play an important role improving the quality of our existing content and improving our content processes. You will focus on driving qualified traffic by leading the creation of targeted content with an emphasis on performance analysis, research, and optimizations. Reporting to the Founder, this role leads one of our most important projects, and making sure that the team delivers on its targets is key. About You
  • You have 5+ years of content marketing experience, ideally in the EdTech or technology industry. You have published content online under your byline, you're an exceptional editor and proofreader. You've owned the content creation process, have a point of view on content direction, and are comfortable collaborating for content assets such as blog posts, e-books, reports, tutorials, and more. You can establish and maintain the voice, style and tone of the brand.
  • You have 2+ years of experience leading editors, writers and designers. You have a track record of recruiting, hiring, and developing high-performance content teams. You can set, manage, and meet deadlines and establish priorities within your team and with collaborating contractors.
  • You're no stranger to SEO and SEM. You're curious, experiment-driven, and love to propose and test new ideas to see what works. You'll work closely with SEO advisors to identify content and keyword opportunities that will drive qualified organic traffic and grow our organic search visibility. You have a general working knowledge of Google Analytics and Google Search Console data.
  • You rely on data to drive decisions and measure impact. We're looking for someone with a strong grasp of content performance metrics, as well as familiarity with distribution channels across organic, email, and more. You use data to analyze and report on the effectiveness of content, including traffic, engagement, and conversions. In short, you embrace experimentation and analytics.
  • You're an excellent communicator, and have a strong command of written and spoken English. You're an exceptional editor and proofreader, who spots a misplaced comma or a typo from a mile away. We are a 100% remote team, and writing is our primary means of communication. This role is responsible for creating content but also for maintaining some written processes and guidelines.
  • You see yourself as a conductor of the team. You identify opportunities to improve the way we work, and foster an inclusive environment. You're observant, an active listener, and are not afraid to ask questions to get at root causes. You are outcome orientated and don't wait for someone to show you how. You have an intense desire to take ownership, build a great team that delivers excellent results.
  • You're great at time management. Your efforts and expertise will be highly valued within the company, and at team members will therefore seek your resources. As part of a remote team, you'll be trusted to work with minimal supervision and be responsible for keeping your team focused on your goals.
  • You are comfortable and confident in a remote working setting. You have prior experience working remotely as a contractor, freelancer or within a startup. You'll have the freedom to work full-time, daytime hours as you see fit. Yet, you are flexible enough to make time for a call outside your normal working hours.
Things You'll Do
  • Recruit, manage, and develop a team of writers, editors, and graphic designers (freelancers or full-time) to help scale our marketing reach and engagement. Including project management and article assignments, brainstorming article ideas, and encouraging a creation, testing and learning cycle.
  • Lead processes for content production. We focus on education ("How to get the EIT certification"), advice ("Should I ask my manager for a raise?"), and analysis ("The best calculator for the FE exam").
  • Research and write content briefs for articles that are informed by trends and keyword research, establishing a process to optimize articles for search visibility and volume.
  • Guide marketing content primarily on the blog, but also including email campaigns, landing pages, ebooks, and possibly video scripts.
  • Leverage data analytics to build a system to measure and track content performance and develop regular practices for sharing performance insights and best practices with the team.
  • Work with the SEO contractors or advisors to craft data-driven recommendations for content optimization to improve conversion, address keyword gaps and seize new opportunities. Revisit, optimize and improve older articles to boost their performance.
  • Engage a remote team by developing the necessary processes and positive reinforcement metrics that foster high performance.
  • Support cross-functional strategic projects that span Help Desk, Student Success, Brand, Design, and User Research.
