We are scaling up our operations rapidly, and the Senior Editor will be responsible for maintaining quality standards and growing our content operations for all projects from a set of defined clients. As a key stakeholder in maintaining the quality of deliverables, the Senior Editor will oversee content quality across projects, manage feedback and briefing, and interface regularly with clients, content writers and the quality management team at Pepper. The Senior Editor will report directly to the Head of Editorial. This is a full-time role, but the candidate may choose to work remotely. On a typical day, the Senior Editor will fulfil the following responsibilities: - Quality assurance: Maintaining a high standard of quality for all content deliverables for a fixed set of accounts. o - Editing and proofreading: Processing all written content for those accounts (Calculated in terms of number of hours: 10000 words in 8 hours) o - Revision and feedback: Providing feedback to writers and editors - Client Reworks: Analysing and applying feedback from clients. o - Quality assessment: Identifying and documenting lapses in quality at the pre- submission and post-submission client rework stages and proactively participating in maintaining a pool of high-quality writers. o - Reviewing (Large projects): Reviewing and sampling edited pieces to maintain a high standard of overall content quality. o o o - Briefing and Preparation: Collaborating with the quality management team to create briefing materials, such as creative briefs, rework notes, writing guidelines, and instruction videos. - Liaisoning: Engaging regularly with clients and the internal team to set quality expectations, understand requirements, and apply feedback. - Deadline adherence: Following execution strategies and collaborating with the. Operations and Delivery team to create allocation strategies and manage deadlines. o Ideal candidate The ideal candidate working with Pepper in this role must have extensive experience in copy editing and reviewing content. o - Strong experience in editorial roles (Minimum 5 years) specifically in the content marketing or digital publishing industry or as a copywriter or copy editor for brands and companies. Preferably, the candidate must have extensively worked in one or two specific domains. - Strong copyediting and proofreading skills, with advanced knowledge of applied grammar and best practices of content writing. - Some experience in managing projects or teams of editors. - A good understanding of content writing, content marketing, and SEO.
