Job Title: Consultant / Sr. Tech Lead, Infrastructure Engineering Role title: Consultant / Sr. Tech Lead- Infrastructure Engineering Colt Level: S2 Core / PT1 Advance Function: COO Engineering - Infrastructure Engineering Reports to: Manager / Sr. Manager - Infrastructure Engineering Location: Gurgaon - INDIA Role purpose This role is in Infrastructure Engineering Team. This role is required to contribute to deliver network design, migration methods, network discovery, analytics, infra implementation for various network transformation initiatives for all network domains in the Colt network. This role will have deeper engagement in the development and execution of the strategies for core network build and transformation projects e.g. Node programme, EoL, Network Life Cycle and Core infrastructure implementation capability. The role is required for the core network transformation, technical planning, detailed preparation, job packs and co-ordination of technology and preparing designs for service migrations between network sites. To manage the relationships with key supporting teams such as Service Delivery and Change Management for workload and resource planning in support of node migration projects. Provide planning and technical expertise to the Node Strategy team to assist development of proposals and business cases for future node migrations. Support other migration or network asset optimization related tasks. Key accountabilities Network Planning of transformation programs having multi-technology and multi-era telecommunication platforms with alignment and governance of Colt Engineering guidelines. Network build of Colt Core network and assets (metro nodes, sub-nodes, LDN repeaters, IQNet sites etc.) Driving the preparation of business cases, setting the financial justification and obtaining approval from the key stakeholders Network Analytics, technical design and implementation for network transformation programs e.g. Node programme, EoL, Network Life Cycle, Migrations etc. Deliver Network discovery and service analytics methods and database, aligned with network life cycle management for longer term Network strategy Responsible for preparing solutions for migration of Offnet Services as defined by the Offnet Program Manager Provide regular delivery progress reporting as per project and programme requirements Provide input to the Technical Migration Manager to support development of migration approaches aligned to technologies and specific node sites. Produce planned and updated project and summary reports, including cost breakdowns and summaries Manage workflows for technical migration planning and execution of migration activities, covering network infrastructure and customer service migrations Other accountabilities (optional) Process development Automation and simplification Key performance indicators (financial and non-financial) Design efficiency for Network Transformation programme Accuracy of network planning for design and cost Network transformation planning in alignment with operational requirement of Colt Internal and External network needs Cost Optimized business cases with proven cost elements Technical and commercial innovation for network transformation programs Relationships and key contacts Engineering Teams Product Portfolio Service Delivery and Operations Teams Network Sourcing , Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance DCS Sales Legal , Security Sales Real Estate Colt customers Role specific requirements Skills & Experience 15-20 years' experience in a telco service provider environment, planning/configuring/documenting network assets and inventory. Demonstrate awareness/exposure to vendor equipment: WDM(Ciena / Infinera / ADVA), Ethernet, IP(Cisco/Ciena/Nokia/Juniper), Voice (DMS, EWSD) Experience of writing business cases and preparing cost calculations for big projects like node exits Exposure of node/ site planning for telco infrastructure. Innovative and motivated - ability to think 'out of the box' Conversant with project management methods, tools and performance measures Knowledge of the key technologies and architectures deployed in the Colt network (Infinera LDN, NSN MSP, M-MSP, IP etc.) Proficient in MS-Excel and Visio Experience in planning and implementation of large scale network transformation programme Desirable: Knowledge of Colt's internal processes and systems used for change management, delivery and network inventory management Good Data Analysis skills Qualifications Diploma / B.E. in Electronics/Telecommunications/Electrical Eng. Business Administration Certification / Diploma / MBA Fluency in written and spoken English is must - candidate is expected to communicate with colleagues across Colt Behaviours Example Behaviours: Others Be aware of colt information security, business continuity, quality and other ISO or equivalent policies/ industry standards and discharge duties against them as appropriate.
