Inviting applications for the role of Consultant, Python and Automation Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Python and Automation Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automation solutions that streamline business processes and improve operational efficiency. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand complex requirements, build scalable solutions, and ensure robust documentation and compliance.
Responsibilities
Understand business requirements beyond face value and design machine-executable automation solutions.
Develop reusable, modular automation scripts and frameworks using Python and shell scripting (Bash/PowerShell).
Implement best practices in automation design, coding standards, and delivery timelines.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize existing automation solutions for performance and reliability.
Software Engineering
Build and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services using Python.
Work with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) to perform complex queries, aggregations, and optimizations.
Apply object-oriented programming principles and design patterns in solution development.
Collaborate with product and strategy teams to implement business logic and policies in code.
System & DevOps Integration
Work in Unix/Linux and Windows environments for automation deployment and configuration.
Use Git for version control and CI/CD tools like Jenkins for automated testing and deployment.
Integrate with monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Prometheus, and Splunk for observability.
Documentation & Collaboration
Create and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation for automation workflows, templates, and systems.
Standardize documentation practices across teams and ensure alignment with compliance and governance standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Security Operations, CSIRT, Finance) to gather requirements and deliver automation solutions.
Conduct training sessions and provide user support for automation tools and documentation practices.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Strong hands-on experience in Python development, including libraries like Pandas and requests.
Proficiency in SQL (preferably PostgreSQL) with knowledge of OLTP/OLAP, joins, aggregations, and window functions.
Experience with Unix/Linux and Windows OS: file systems, permissions, logs, environment setup, and process management.
Familiarity with Git workflows (branching, pull requests, rebasing, merging).
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
Experience in SQL performance tuning and understanding execution plans.
Knowledge of DevOps tools: Jenkins, SonarQube, Fortify, Maven/Gradle.
Exposure to automation testing frameworks like JUnit, Mockito, and BDD tools.
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
