Description
Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations, provides projectbased technical leadership within the IT Infrastructure & Operations team. Interacts with network services, software systems engineering, andor applications development to restore service andor identify and correct core problem. Performs a range of technical assignments and solves complex problems with moderate resource requirements and risk. Recommends systems modifications to reduce user problems. Maintains currency and high level of technical skill in field of expertise. Uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Apply working knowledge of IT infrastructure to perform moderately complex technical assignments
Utilize and maintain the helpdesk system, to track infrastructure IT related requests, incidents, and problems
Simulate or recreate user problems to resolve operating difficulties
Interact with network services, software systems engineering, andor applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problem
Interact with internal and third-party security vendors for security auditing tasks
Recommend systems modifications to reduce user problems
Provide process, system and software support to individuals or user groups
Work closely with business users, analyzing their existing work practices through systematic process mapping, identifying solutions to business needs, and opportunities for system and process improvement
Production of highquality documents, manuals, and communication relevant to systems, projects and business activities as required
Maintain and support IT infrastructure in a production environment and perform daily health checks
Monitor and respond to alerts proactively to resolve potential problems Perform Windows and Linux system builds Maintain and support Active Directory domains
Execute firmware upgrades, OS upgrades, patches, and hardware upgrades
Create, review, and update runbooks and standard operating procedure documentation
Key Requirements
Bachelors Degree or equivalent relevant experience
2 years working in IT Infrastructure & Operations or other equivalent experience
Working knowledge and expanded conceptual knowledge related to IT Infrastructure & Operations
Experience and proficiency with current technologies (Azure and AWS cloud, PowerShell etc)
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
Understands business processes and how to leverage standard system capabilities to support them. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fastpaced, team environment
Effective interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to maintain positive working relationshipsExperience with Linux and Windows server perating systems
Knowledge of virtualization technologies like VMware
Incident and change management process knowledge ITIL is preferred
Ability to automate common task and manage systems via PowerShell and BASH scripting
Experience with monitoring tool (SCOM, Nagios, Zabbix, AppDynamics, PagerDuty, etc.)
Experience andor certifications with cloud technologies (Azure or AWS) The above
