Role

The Business Oversight & Reporting unit is a rapidly expanding business within Global Fund Services (GFS) area of Northern Trust with offices in Ireland, London, Guernsey, Luxembourg, Chicago, Australia, Bangalore and Pune.

The Business Oversight & Reporting Consultant is a proactive consultant role that is responsible for oversight of the business units within GFS. The Consultant provides proactive leadership and guidance to partners to strengthen controls, assess and mitigate operational risk.

This IC role which reports to the GFS Business Oversight & Reporting Lead will provide an opportunity for the successful candidate to develop knowledge and experience of a dynamic and varied environment of GFS.

RESPONSIBILITIES

\xc3\xb0 Perform proactive focused reviews independently according to priorities and key risk areas to maintain quality levels & identify areas for enhancement. Provide recommendations & track implementation by the Business Units.
\xc3\xb0 Ensure preventative/detective controls are in place following procedure & process failures.
\xc3\xb0 Ensure that current policies and procedures are in place (and are being followed) for business unit functions and are in compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
\xc3\xb0 Assess Operational readiness of the business unit\xe2\x80\x99s ability to take on new clients, processes, or perform system migrations.
\xc3\xb0 Liaise with Enterprise Business solutions team to innovate and develop process improvements to mitigate operational risk
\xc3\xb0 Perform proactive reviews on the processes undergoing Strategic Change
\xc3\xb0 Perform Root Cause Analysis of incidents within the department and identifying trends and solutions.
\xc3\xb0 Perform Trend analysis using metrics available leading to proactive mitigation of risk.
\xc3\xb0 Collaborate with Business Functions to assess the Business Continuity Plans (BCP), & identify gaps and deviation from BCP.
\xc3\xb0 Keep abreast of industry and regulatory developments that may impact the risk and quality of our service.
\xc3\xb0 Track all review actions / reporting to Senior Management and plan effectively to meet the deadlines set
\xc3\xb0 Articulate various Oversight Reports to ensure timely & effective communication to management.
\xc3\xb0 Maintain effective communication channels at all levels and engage stakeholders continuously & determine priorities and objectives for performing reviews.

SKILLS

\xc3\xb0 Strong understanding of Risk Management and Control design & effectiveness
\xc3\xb0 Understating of the Transfer Agency and/or Fund Accounting and/ or Hedge Fund Services business including its strategic goals, associated products and supporting operational functions.
\xc3\xb0 Knowledge of risk management techniques and proven ability to identify and asses risk in business processes, migration activity and new products.. Knowledge of Six Sigma & Agile or other Process Improvement methodologies in an added advantage. Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI & Word).
\xc3\xb0 Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices like CASS, IMR, AIFMD, FATCA, UCITS V will be an added advantage
\xc3\xb0 Must be able to think creatively and possess strong trend & data analytical skills, reasoning skills, problem solving & project management skills.
\xc3\xb0 Strong communication, presentation & negotiation skills are necessary to consult with partners/clients throughout the organization
\xc3\xb0 Self-starter with the ability to function independently in a fast-paced, dynamic and demanding environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

\xc3\xb0 Overall experience of 6+ years
\xc3\xb0 Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with emphasis in Accounting, CA or ICWA Inter/Master degree/IAQ/IOC or equivalent a plus
\xc3\xb0 Experience in Audit/Operational Control/ Risk or equivalent
\xc3\xb0 Accounting / financial services/ capital markets work experience or equivalent
\xc3\xb0 Should be flexible for shifts and extended working hours.
