Fluor led joint venture with United Infrastructure Group, Fluor-United Asheville (FUA), is seeking candidates for the I-26 Widening Project. FUA was selected by the N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT) to widen and improve the 7.5 mile stretch of Interstate 26 from Exit 40 (N.C. 280) to the I-40 interchange in Asheville, N.C. The project will widen I-26 from two lanes to four lanes in each direction, including two interchange reconstructions, one at N.C. 280 and the other at N.C. 146, and the construction of seven new bridges, two over Glenn Bridge Road, two over Biltmore Farms Road, two over the French Broad River and one segmental bridge on the Blue Ridge Parkway over I-26. This stretch of I-26 currently carries more than 58,000 vehicles per day. This position provides technical support to craft and supervision on the project. Also supports Quality by providing Quality oversight in their daily activities, as required. . Perform construction engineering work requiring application of standard construction engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria in performing a sequence of related construction engineering tasks . Assist craftsmen and foreman with regard to construction-related issues identified on drawings . Perform surveillance/examinations, if required, to ensure that the Quality objectives are being met for the project . Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines . Other duties as assigned Basic Job Requirements . Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and two (2) years of work-related experience a recognized certification or registration in the applicable field, if required some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements . Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors . Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job . Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines . Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner Preferred Qualifications . Construction Management degree or global equivalent . Typically has three (3) years of project experience . Ability to speak/read multiple languages . Basic computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the basic use of spreadsheets To be Considered Candidates: Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located.
