Job Summary
The Commis-III - Bakery & Pastry supports the bakery and pastry team in the daily preparation, production, and presentation of baked goods and desserts. This is an entry-level position focused on learning basic bakery and pastry techniques while maintaining high standards of hygiene, quality, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of basic bakery and pastry items such as breads, rolls, cakes, pastries, and desserts
Follow standard recipes and instructions provided by senior chefs
Help with mixing, baking, decorating, and plating under supervision
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the bakery and pastry work areas
Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times
Assist with proper storage of ingredients and finished products
Support senior chefs during service and peak production times
Handle kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues
Minimize waste and follow portion control guidelines
Carry out any other duties assigned by the Chef de Partie or Pastry Chef
Qualifications & Skills
Basic knowledge of bakery and pastry operations (training or culinary education preferred)
Willingness to learn and follow instructions
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Good teamwork and communication skills
Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety
Physically fit to stand for long hours and handle kitchen tasks
