Commis I is the senior baker on the frontline -- shaping dough into delight, ensuring consistency, and supporting the section like the steady heartbeat of the bakery.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, bake, and finish breads, rolls, pastries, and basic confectionery as per hotel standards.
Maintain product consistency, portion control, and presentation quality.
Assist in developing new bakery items under the guidance of CDP/Pastry Chef.
Monitor stock levels, report shortages, and assist in daily requisitions.
Ensure mise en place is ready for all service periods.
Maintain hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards at all times (HACCP compliance).
Train and guide Commis II and trainees.
Operate bakery equipment safely (mixers, ovens, sheeters, etc.).
Support banquet and cafe requirements as needed.
Skills & Requirements
2-3 years of bakery experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of breads, doughs, and basic pastries.
Ability to handle peak production smoothly.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Qualification : Diploma or degree in hotel management specialised in bakery and confectionery
