The Commis Chef assists in food preparation and basic cooking under the supervision of senior chefs. The role involves maintaining high standards of hygiene, food quality, and kitchen organization to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in daily food preparation and cooking as per recipes and standards.
Ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients and prepared items.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the workstation at all times.
Follow instructions from senior chefs (CDP, DCDP, Sous Chef) for prep and service.
Ensure proper use and care of kitchen equipment and utensils.
Assist in receiving, checking, and storing raw materials.
Support in portioning, plating, and garnishing dishes as required.
Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
Help with closing and cleaning duties after service.
Requirements:
Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Commis in a reputed restaurant/hotel.
Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety standards.
Passion for food and eagerness to learn new techniques.
Team player with a positive attitude and discipline.
Willingness to work in rotational shifts and weekends.
