To assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards, ensuring consistency, hygiene, and food safety at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook dishes as per the menu and chef's instructions.
Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
Ensure proper portion control and minimize food wastage.
Support senior chefs in menu planning, recipe development, and mise-en-place.
Follow all hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards (HACCP / FSSAI compliance).
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, kitchen equipment, and storage areas.
Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the supervisor.
Train and guide Commis II, Commis III, and Trainees when required.
Ensure timely preparation of food during service hours.
Work collaboratively with the team to deliver smooth kitchen operations.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and ingredients.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Attention to detail in food preparation and plating.
Teamwork skills.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Experience:
Minimum
2-3 years of experience
as Commis I / Commis II in a reputed restaurant.
Specialization in cuisine ( Chinese ) preferred.
