Job Description

Key Responsibilities:



Food Preparation:



Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning vegetables, fruits, grains, legumes, and other plant-based ingredients. Prepare and portion ingredients according to recipes and the chef's instructions. Learn and accurately follow vegan recipes, ensuring consistent quality and taste. Assist in the preparation of various vegan dishes, including salads, sandwiches, bowls, baked goods, sauces, and other menu items. Help with mise en place (preparation of ingredients and equipment) for all kitchen stations.

Cooking and Plating:



Under supervision, perform basic cooking tasks such as boiling, steaming, sauteing, baking, and grilling plant-based ingredients. Assist with the plating and presentation of dishes, ensuring adherence to the cafe's standards. Learn and understand cooking temperatures and techniques specific to vegan ingredients.

Kitchen Operations and Hygiene:



Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen at all times. Clean and sanitize workstations, kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes regularly throughout the shift. Assist with washing dishes, pots, and pans, either manually or using dishwashing equipment. Properly store and label all food items, ensuring correct temperatures and rotation (FIFO - First In, First Out). Monitor stock levels on your section and communicate shortages to senior chefs. Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper organization and quality control. Adhere to all food safety and health regulations, including temperature checks and allergen protocols (specifically for common vegan allergens like nuts, soy, and gluten). Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to a senior chef immediately.

Teamwork and Development:



Work collaboratively with all kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service. Communicate effectively with senior chefs and colleagues regarding tasks, issues, and needs. Show eagerness to learn and take initiative in understanding various kitchen roles and vegan culinary techniques. Attend all required training sessions and team meetings. Be punctual and maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and uniform.

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
