To assist in the preparation and cooking of Indian and tandoor dishes while maintaining food quality, hygiene standards, and kitchen discipline under the guidance of senior kitchen staff.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of Indian and tandoor items such as rotis, naans, parathas, kebabs, and basic curries
Prepare mise en place as per daily kitchen requirements
Support senior chefs during service operations
Operate and maintain tandoor and kitchen equipment safely
Follow standard recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines
Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of the work area as per FSSAI standards
Assist in proper storage and handling of raw materials and cooked food
Minimize food wastage and follow cost-control practices
Comply with kitchen safety, health, and company policies
Perform any other kitchen duties assigned by senior chefs
Key Skills & Qualifications
Basic culinary training or diploma from a recognized institute preferred.
Prior experience in Indian/Tandoor kitchen is an advantage
Good understanding of Indian spices, marinades, and traditional cooking techniques.
Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Willingness to learn and take instructions
Team player with a positive attitude
Physically fit to stand for long hours and work in hot conditions
Experience
0-2 years of experience as a kitchen helper or trainee in Indian cuisine
