The Commi II - Indian Cuisine supports the kitchen team in basic food preparation and cooking tasks under the guidance of senior chefs. The role focuses on learning core Indian cooking techniques, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations during service.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in basic preparation of Indian dishes such as chopping, marination, grinding, and mise-en-place
Support Commi I and senior chefs during service hours
Follow recipes, instructions, and portion control as directed
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, kitchen equipment, and utensils
Adhere strictly to food safety and hygiene standards (FSSAI norms)
Help in proper storage of food items following FIFO procedures
Assist in receiving, storing, and labeling kitchen supplies
Ensure minimal wastage and proper use of ingredients
Carry out any kitchen duties assigned by senior chefs
Skills & Competencies
Basic knowledge of Indian cuisine and ingredients
Willingness to learn kitchen operations and cooking techniques
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Good communication and teamwork skills
Attention to cleanliness and hygiene
Qualifications
Basic culinary training or Hotel Management certificate (preferred)
2-3 year experience
in a professional kitchen or trainee role
Freshers with relevant training may also apply
