Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing ingredients and cooking dishes as per the instructions of the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen and at your workstation.
Follow standard recipes and presentation specifications as directed.
Ensure all food is stored, handled, and prepared in a hygienic and safe manner.
Work in various sections of the kitchen as needed (e.g., hot, cold, pastry, etc.).
Support the team in mise en place, portion control, and food prep for service.
Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and follow all instructions.
Minimize wastage and assist in controlling food cost.
Comply with all health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
Requirements:
1-3 years of experience in a professional kitchen; hotel or restaurant experience preferred.
Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Willingness to learn and grow in the culinary field.
Basic understanding of hygiene and food safety practices.
Preferred:
Experience in Indian or Continental cuisine.
