Job Summary:
The Commi 3rd (Chinese) is responsible for assisting with food preparation, cooking, and ensuring cleanliness in the kitchen. This entry-level position is a stepping stone to a more senior role and requires learning Chinese culinary techniques, ingredients, and kitchen operations under supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, chopping, and marinating.
Help with basic cooking tasks, such as stir-frying, steaming, and deep-frying, under supervision.
Ensure the cleanliness and organization of workstations, tools, and equipment.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety at all times.
Assist in setting up and breaking down workstations at the beginning and end of shifts.
Follow recipes and instructions from senior kitchen staff to ensure consistency and quality in food preparation.
Help in the plating and presentation of dishes, ensuring they meet the restaurant's standards.
Monitor stock levels and help with inventory control.
Assist with the preparation of sauces, stocks, and broths according to recipes.
Participate in training sessions to enhance cooking skills and knowledge of Chinese cuisine.
