is an entry-level position in the kitchen brigade. The role is primarily focused on basic food preparation and assisting senior chefs with daily kitchen tasks. Commis 3 plays a key role in maintaining hygiene, mise-en-place, and learning core culinary skills on the job.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in basic food preparation tasks (washing, peeling, cutting, portioning ingredients).
Support Commis 2, Commis 1, and Chef de Partie during mise-en-place and service.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the workstation and kitchen equipment.
Follow hygiene and food safety standards at all times (HACCP guidelines).
Learn kitchen procedures, recipes, and presentation standards.
Dispose of waste properly and assist with kitchen cleaning duties.
Receive and store deliveries according to kitchen protocols.
Ensure ingredients are properly labelled and stored.
Requirements:
Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety.
Passion for cooking and willingness to learn.
Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
Team player with a positive attitude.
Physical stamina and ability to work long shifts.
Previous kitchen experience (internship or training) is a plus but not required.
Flexibility to work in different sections and shifts, including weekends and holidays.
