Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a variety of
pure vegetarian Indian curries
(North and South Indian styles) following standardized recipes.
Operate the
tandoor oven
to prepare breads like naan, roti, kulcha, and tandoori vegetarian items such as paneer tikka, veg seekh kebab, and other grilled delicacies.
Assist the Chef de Partie in maintaining mise-en-place and prepping ingredients (cutting, marinating, grinding masalas).
Ensure food is cooked and presented according to quality and safety standards.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the workstation and kitchen tools.
Follow food safety guidelines and standard operating procedures strictly.
Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or spoilage promptly.
Minimize wastage and contribute to cost-effective kitchen operations.
Support junior kitchen staff and help maintain smooth kitchen workflow.
Requirements:
2-4 years of experience in Indian curry and tandoor preparation, preferably in vegetarian kitchens.
Knowledge of Indian spices, cooking techniques, and tandoor operations.
Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and food safety.
Team player with good communication skills.
Physically fit to work in a hot kitchen environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Culinary diploma or certificate in hotel management or culinary arts (preferred).
Experience in multi-cuisine or pure vegetarian restaurants is an advantage.
Work Schedule:
Rotational shifts including lunch and dinner service.
Availability on weekends and public holidays.
