is responsible for preparing and cooking food items under the supervision of senior chefs, focusing on Continental dishes such as pastas, grills, roasts, soups, and sauces. The role includes managing mise-en-place, maintaining high standards of hygiene, and supporting smooth kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook Continental dishes such as steaks, pasta, grilled meats, soups, salads, and sauces according to standard recipes.
Assist with daily mise-en-place: chopping vegetables, marinating proteins, and preparing garnishes.
Follow proper portion control and food presentation standards.
Ensure the cleanliness and organization of your workstation at all times.
Operate kitchen equipment (ovens, grills, fryers, etc.) safely and efficiently.
Support the Chef de Partie and Demi Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations.
Monitor and minimize food waste.
Comply with food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP).
Assist in receiving, labeling, and storing kitchen supplies and ingredients.
Maintain a high level of personal hygiene and grooming.
Requirements:
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably with a focus on Continental cuisine.
Knowledge of basic Continental cooking techniques and ingredients.
Culinary diploma or certification preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Good communication skills and team-oriented attitude.
Willingness to learn and grow within the kitchen team.
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
