Company Name-Dencol India Job Title- Commercial Vehicle Driver Department: Delivery / Driver / Logistics Location: Kolkata (South) Salary: Rs.10000/- to Rs.15000/- per month Job Summary- 1) This profile involves crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of goods between various locations, including suppliers, distribution centers, and customers. 2) Supervise load and unload of products from the trucks. 3) Transport all fragile and heavy items carefully 4) Maintaining vehicle integrity, adhering to safety regulations, and contributing to the efficiency of our supply chain operations. Key Responsibilities: Safe Operation of Commercial Vehicles: -Operate company-owned commercial vehicles (trucks, vans, trailers) to transport goods in a safe and efficient manner. -Follow all traffic laws and road regulations to ensure the safety of yourself, the cargo, and other road users. -Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle functionality and safety. Timely Deliveries: -Plan routes and schedules to ensure on-time deliveries of products to designated destinations, including suppliers and customers. -Communicate with dispatch or transportation managers to provide updates on delivery progress or potential delays. Cargo Handling: -Load and unload goods onto/from the vehicle using proper equipment and techniques to prevent damage to products. -Secure cargo using appropriate restraints to prevent shifting during transit. Vehicle Maintenance: -Perform routine maintenance checks on the vehicle, such as checking oil levels, tire pressure, brakes, and other essential components. -Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel to ensure the vehicle\'s proper functionality. -Documentation and Record-Keeping: -Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of daily activities, including mileage, fuel consumption, rest breaks, and hours of service. -Complete delivery and pickup documentation, ensuring that all necessary paperwork is properly filled out and submitted. Safety Compliance: -Adhere to company and industry safety standards, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe driving practices. -Maintain awareness of changing road conditions, weather, and potential hazards to adjust driving behavior accordingly. Customer Service: -Interact professionally with customers and suppliers during delivery and pickup, providing excellent customer service and representing the company in a positive manner. Communication: -Maintain open and clear communication with dispatch, transportation managers, and other team members to coordinate activities and address any issues that arise during transit. Qualifications: -Valid commercial driver\'s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle being operated. -Clean driving record with no major violations. -High school diploma or equivalent. -Proven experience as a commercial vehicle driver is preferred. -Knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws. -Ability to operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently. -Strong communication and interpersonal skills. -Physical stamina for loading/unloading and long hours of driving. -Ability to work independently and make sound decisions on the road.
