Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Analyst to join our Cognos reporting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating data accuracy, ensuring report functionality, and supporting the quality assurance process for both existing and newly developed Cognos reports and dashboards.


Key Responsibilities:


Review and validate Cognos reports and dashboards for data accuracy, formatting, and performance.


Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business and technical requirements.


Perform regression, functional, and data validation testing on reporting solutions.


Collaborate with Business Analysts and Developers to understand report logic and ensure alignment with requirements.


Identify, document, and track defects; work with the development team to resolve issues.


Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and assist business users during validation cycles.


Maintain QA documentation and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes.


Required Skills and Experience:


4 to 6 years of experience in QA roles, preferably in reporting or BI environments.


Strong understanding of data validation, ETL processes, and reporting tools (preferably IBM Cognos).


Experience in writing and executing SQL queries for backend data validation.


Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, HP ALM).


Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.


Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
