Manager / Senior Manager - O&M (Solar Cluster Lead)
Base Location:
Mungeli, Chhattisgarh
(Travel to cluster sites required)
Experience:
14 to 18 years (Utility-scale Solar O&M experience mandatory)
Qualification (Mandatory):
BTech / BE in Electrical Engineering
Valid State Electrical Supervisor / Electrical License
Job Purpose:
To lead and manage O&M operations for a cluster of 4-5 utility-scale solar power plants (30-100 MW each), ensuring high availability, optimal generation, electrical safety compliance, and cost-efficient operations across all sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Cluster Operations Management
Overall responsibility for O&M performance of multiple solar sites (cluster model).
Monitor plant generation, PR, availability, and loss trends across all sites.
Drive standardization of O&M practices and performance benchmarks across the cluster.
Site Leadership & Governance
Lead and mentor Site In-charges / O&M Leads at each location.
Review site-level KPIs, safety performance, and statutory compliance.
Act as escalation point for technical, safety, and commercial issues.
Electrical Systems & Compliance
Ensure compliance with CEA regulations, State Electrical Inspectorate, and statutory norms across sites.
Oversee HT/LT systems, pooling stations, evacuation lines, and grid interface.
Ensure robust implementation of PTW, LOTO, and electrical safety systems.
Maintenance & Reliability
Drive preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance strategies.
Coordinate with OEMs for inverters, transformers, protection relays, and SCADA.
Reduce forced outages, repeat failures, and grid-related trippings.
Performance Improvement & Reporting
Analyze PR losses, downtime, and recurring faults at cluster level.
Prepare and present cluster MIS, dashboards, and improvement plans to HO.
Implement best practices and technology-driven optimization initiatives.
Cost Control & Commercial Support
Manage O&M budgets, spares planning, and inventory optimization for the cluster.
Support audits, PPA compliance, and coordination with Discoms / SLDCs.
Ensure cost efficiency without compromising safety and performance.
Safety & Culture
Drive strong EHS culture across sites in coordination with EHS teams.
Ensure incident reporting, investigations, and closure of corrective actions.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong hands-on expertise in solar plant electrical O&M.
Proven experience managing multi-site / cluster O&M operations.
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Data-driven decision-making and performance optimization mindset.
High ownership and ability to operate independently.
Mandatory Requirements:
BTech Electrical Engineering.
Valid State Electrical License.
14-18 years of experience in utility-scale Solar O&M.
Experience handling 30-100 MW solar plants; multi-site exposure preferred.
Willingness to be based at Mungeli, Chhattisgarh.
Preferred Experience:
IPP O&M exposure with large renewable portfolios.
Experience interacting with multiple SLDCs and utilities.
Exposure to centralized monitoring / digital O&M tools.
