This position is located at our Pune, India headquarters. This position will report to the Manager of Cloud Data Engineering (CDE) and is a member of the Data and Platforms - Enterprise Information Management (EIM) team. The team is responsible for the execution of new cloud data solutions in support of business needs. The position will be responsible for selecting the most effective AWS resources and cloud services for our data ingestion pipelines. The team uses a wide variety of data ingestion technologies giving you the ability to learn new skills and broaden your expertise. The holder of this position will work with other EIM team members to execute projects that are requested by our internal businesses and functions. The Solution Architect is responsible for solution designs and technical documentation. Their tasks usually begin with choosing the right technology for the business problem(s) and managing architectural concerns to ensure more productive and effective outcomes. You will be responsible to define the work processes and standards executed by other team members. A solutions architect is responsible for translating the vision for the project to the development team and plays a pivotal part throughout the entire systems development lifecycle. They are also involved in future updates to the solution. You will need to keep current on new AWS services, execute proof of concepts, partner with our Enterprise Architecture and Cloud Platform Enablement team to vet new services. The best candidate is a self-starter with leadership qualities who learns quickly and likes to challenge the status quo. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Liaise with clients and business representatives to understand the needs of business Liaise with other professionals to design solution architecture for businesses and clients Ensure compliance to solution architectural design in the implementation of projects Provide architectural design document (TSA) to the project team Render consulting and technical support services on project implementation to the project team Explain technical issues and IT solution strategies to stakeholders and other IT professionals Keep accurate record of materials used, expected deliverables, and milestones achieved Ensure that solution architecture designed are in sync with business needs and hardware Review the proposal to ensure that quality inputs are delivered at the least possible cost Identify and mitigate existing business risk or risks associated with solution architecture. Develop reusable architectures where possible Implement and enforce standards across development technologies Manage multiple concurrent assignments and meet specified milestones Participate in AWS bi-weekly meetings JOB REQUIREMENTS Bachelor\'s Degree in Information Technology field or related technical discipline preferred 8 years of experience working in IT Development or Engineering roles, preferably within data lake Mastery of fundamental AWS concepts needed to build a Data Lake Knowledge of best practices in Data management, Data Lakes Effective analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills Strong oral and written English language communications skills Highly organized and dedicated with a positive attitude Work in both Agile or Waterfall development methodologies Working knowledge of AWS Data Lake / Data Warehouses, SQL, JSON Working knowledge of security and networking Knowledge of RDBS, no SQL database is desirable AWS certification desired, knowledge of Draw.io desired Knowledge of IaC - Infrastructure as Code, Source Control, Deployment models Demonstrated track record of successful task and/or project delivery Experience working in a team-oriented, globally collaborative environment
