Client Acquisition: Roles & Responsibilities
1. Lead Generation Specialist
Role: Identify and source potential clients.
Responsibilities:
Research and build lists of qualified leads through databases, social platforms, and industry events.
Execute outbound campaigns (email, calls, messages).
Maintain CRM records with accurate lead data.
Collaborate with marketing to refine audience targeting.
2. Business Development Representative (BDR) / Sales Development Representative (SDR)
Role: Qualify leads and set up sales opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Engage with inbound and outbound leads to understand needs.
Conduct initial discovery calls.
Nurture early-stage prospects with follow-ups.
Schedule meetings/demos for account executives.
Track conversion metrics.
3. Account Executive (AE) / Sales Manager
Role: Convert qualified prospects into paying clients.
Responsibilities:
Deliver product/service demos.
Conduct full sales cycle: discovery ? proposal ? negotiation ? closing.
Develop tailored solutions for client needs.
Meet revenue and acquisition targets.
Maintain relationships until handoff to account management.
4. Marketing Team (Digital, Content, Growth, etc.)
Role: Generate demand and attract potential clients.
Responsibilities:
Create campaigns (ads, content, SEO, events) to drive inbound leads.
Build brand awareness and thought leadership.
Manage email marketing and nurture flows.
Provide sales enablement materials (case studies, presentations).
Analyze campaign performance and optimize for conversion.
5. Client Onboarding Specialist
Role: Ensure a smooth transition from prospect to active client.
Responsibilities:
Welcome new clients and set expectations.
Collect onboarding documentation.
Train clients on product/service usage.
Coordinate with internal teams to launch services.
Monitor early client satisfaction.
6. Sales Operations / CRM Admin
Role: Support client acquisition with systems and data.
Responsibilities:
Manage CRM workflows, data hygiene, and automation.
Create sales dashboards and reports.
Improve funnel efficiency and forecasting.
Align tools across sales & marketing.
7. Partnership / Channel Manager (optional)
Role: Acquire clients through partner networks and alliances.
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain partnerships (agencies, resellers, affiliates).
Develop co-marketing or co-selling strategies.
Track partner performance and pipeline.
Facilitate revenue-sharing or referral agreements.
8. Sales Leadership (Head of Sales, VP Sales)
Role: Drive strategy, performance, and growth.
Responsibilities:
Set acquisition goals and oversee the entire funnel.
Coach and manage sales teams.
Develop pricing, sales playbooks, and territories.
Optimize acquisition processes and budget allocation.
